Press Release: Diocese of Toledo Completes Donation of Former Saint Anthony Church

For Immediate Release

Diocese of Toledo

On July 20, the Diocese of Toledo delivered the deeds for the former Saint Anthony Church, rectory, the parcel of land on which they sit and the adjacent parcel of land located at 519 Junction Avenue, to the Lucas County Land Bank for recording. This formally completes the Diocese’s donation of the former St. Anthony Church to the Land Bank.

The Diocese of Toledo announced the gifting of the former church and land after Bishop Daniel Thomas met twice personally with Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz, and Mr. David Mann over the last several weeks. According to Bishop Thomas, “Now that the former St. Anthony Church buildings and land have been deeded to the Land Bank, I reiterate the sincere hope of the Diocese that, through the collaboration of the Land Bank and Padua Center, the future use of the buildings and property will promote even greater outreach for the good of the local community.”
